About Keone

Born and raised on the twin-island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago located in the Southern Caribbean, Keone spent much of his childhood around water. From countless days training in swimming pools and competing, to playing along riverbeds and going on adventures by the sea with his family and friends. This shaped his passion from an early age not only for nature and her environs, but what would become a driving force for his photography and storytelling.

His journey, however, would take many twists and turns before making it to the path he walks today. After leaving home to pursue a career as an Actuary, working as a financial consultant in New York, he decided to ‘give it all up’ to travel the world and pursue his dream. With the adventure taking him to Southeast Asia, Keone became a dive professional in Thailand, leading him down the path of travel to some of the world’s most enviable dive destinations including Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia, then continued to Mexico, Central and South America, and back home to the Caribbean.

Since then, Keone has continued his path as a dive professional and is now a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. His desire to introduce others to the beauty and awe of the marine world led him to pursue photography in 2017. A self-taught photographer, he has spent countless hours training and honing his talents working alongside dive centres and other creatives from around the world.

With his knowledge and background within the dive and travel sector, Keone has developed a keen eye for capturing stunning and impactful imagery. He is clear about the influence ocean storytelling can have in raising awareness, as well as the impact it can have in protecting our marine world for future generations.

Keone is a freelance photographer and Caribbean creative; merging his passion for the underwater world and his love for travel and adventure. Through various partnerships, he has become a vocal advocate for representation in ocean and marine storytelling; especially from a Caribbean perspective.
